Wild thing! I think I love you!

I knew I had to feature a feline within my nature spirits collection because my family are all major cat lovers. But as I am focusing on spirit animals that are native to the British Isles, it had to be a wildcat. I knew there were genuine wildcats in Scotland, but I didn't realise how endangered they were as a result of mating with feral cats. Wildcats are quite distinctive. They have thick tabby coats and have big paws. They share many of the traits of feral cats, but they have a tendancy to be more timid, independent and are not tameable.

‘Wildcat teaches us to be independent and free. To discover our own inner strength through solace, observation and intuition when navigating the journey. Wildcat encourages us to be resilient and courageous and to appreciate the finer things of life in abundance.’

Original oil painting on 20 x 20 x 1.5 cm (8 x 8 x 0.5 inch) stretched canvas with painted wraparound edges. The painting is available as a Limited Edition Giclée Print (18x18cm on A4) and as a blank Greeting Card with a nature spirit totem message on the reverse.
