I never really realise how much I miss the ocean and its creatures until I start painting this part of our world. Perhaps it's the beautiful colours, tones and textures of deep watery worlds or maybe it is the unusual beings that live there.
I love the way the water reflects the colours of the surrounding water world onto the seal. It makes the colours really come alive.
I rarely see seals living inland, but their playfulness and agility in the water is quite spectacular. They have a lovely meaning too..
